I’ve researched a few race tracks/speedways in my time, but this one unfortunately didn’t result in much. This small racetrack known as the Pfister Park Midget Track was built in the early 1960s.
Midget cars are a class of racing cars. The cars are very small with a high power-to-weight ratio and typically use four-cylinder engines. They originated in the United States in the 1930s and are raced on most continents.
Brad White remembers attending the track lots back in the day, “Joe Soles was the announcer there for as long as I can remember, the concession stand was run by the local Odd Fellows & Rebekahs Club” said White.

White gave some more details about other features of the track stating there was a small road kart track just west of the old pool building which was on the north side of the old west entrance to the park. Brad said he had raced on that track four times in 63 & 64. He details the wooden structure on the property, pictured below, was the pit board & stand where the officials stood. “I remember it the most beside the track entrance @ turn four during the weekly races. It moved in the middle during big championship races & stayed there till the end around 83-84.”
According to White and aerial imaging, it seems the track was abandoned around 1984 and left to return to nature.
