The Galena Jail is made of iron bars and only just a cell now sitting near Howard Litch Park. While it’s unsure the exact date it was constructed it can only be assumed that this was not freestanding and had some type of structure around it. In 1912 the county jail experienced a fire and the jail was used once again until the county jail was in a place of safe and sanitary conditions again.
