The Hartford Jail is a single cell made of iron bars including a heavy-duty lock and ball and chain. Most Jails left like this were once encompassed by a wooden building that has since deteriorated. The jail was built in 1880 and while an official year couldn’t be found for when this jail closed one can assume sometime between 1920-1940.
